Valve diagnostic was to make me waste $35 on a power supply which did nothing and that's it. usually if a device is replaced before but close to the end of a warranty period (or for a fee after the warranty runs out) the replacement has a nominal warranty of 30, 60, or 90 days, depending on what the warranty document says. Nothing special about Valvle other than the fact they do help people out above and beyond in many cases, even those out of warranty a month or two. however it did this right after warranty expired not even a month after just sitting in its storage location. My Index arrived with a cable that had to be RMA’d. It sounds strange that Valve wouldn't offer to repair their own product just because the warranty expired, the only difference would be that you have to pay for the repairs. I managed to successfully repair it using JB Weld Plastic Bonder (the 15min dry time one).
